CLASS OF 2016 and Beyond
ACADEMIC HONORS DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS:
47 Credits
No semester average lower than C-
3.0 Grade Point Average (B average)
4 years English
Science: Biology I, (Chemistry I, Physics, or Integrated Chemistry/Physics) plus 1 additional Core 40 science
Math: Algebra I (8th grade counts if included on HS transcript and in HS GPA), Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus (8 math credits must be earned in high school); If a student took Algebra I in 8th grade, a stduent MUST take a math or quantitative reasoning course their senior year.
Social Studies: World Civilization or Geography, U.S. History, U.S. Government (1 semester), Economics (1 semester)
1 semester Preparing for College & Careers course
1 semester Computer Class
1 year P.E. or 2 years NJROTC
Health and Wellness: Summer Health or 1 semester health; OR 3 of the following: Interpersonal Relationships, Nutrition & Wellness, Adult Roles & Responsibilities, and/or Child Development & Parenting
1 year Fine Arts: Band, Chorus, or Art
Foreign Language: 3 years same foreign language OR 2 years French with 2 years Spanish
Must complete ONE of the following:
* 2 AP courses and take test OR 6 transcripted College Credits OR one AP course with exam and 3 transcripted college credits, OR *SAT of 1200 OR *ACT of 26
CORE 40 with TECHNICAL HONORS DIPLOMA
Complete all requirements for Core 40
Earn a grade of “C” or better in tech. courses
Have a cumulative GPA of “B” or above
Complete a career-technical program resulting in 8-10 credits; and
Earn a state-recognized certification or certificate of technical achievement
AND complete TWO of the Following,
ONE must be either A or B
A. Take WorkKey Assessment and score at

BLOOMFIELD CORE 40 REQUIREMENTS:
4 years English
Math: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II--six credits must be earned in high school. So, if you earned the Algebra I credits in JH, then you must enroll in pre-calculus. Plus you need to consider the following: You must be enrolled in a math or quantitative reasoning course all 4 years of high school. Science: Biology I, (Chemistry I,Physics or Integrated Chemistry/Physics) plus one additional year of a Core 40 science.
