Attention Cardinal Song & Center Stage members who participated in the Otis Spunkmeyer fundraiser.  Cookie dough will be delivered this WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26, and will be ready for pick up between 3 & 5:30pm in the high school cafeteria that afternoon.  All cookie dough MUST be picked up during that time because we won’t have access to the freezers. 

Our Fall Sports Banquet for high school athletes will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 PM in the HS cafeteria.  Please have your parents bring a covered dish.  Ham and drinks will be provided. The sports included are boys’ and girls’ cross country, boys’ tennis and girls’ volleyball. 

Students:  athletic passes are on sale in the athletic office.  The price is $25.00 and this gets you into all home athletic events.  Students caught entering athletic events without paying or don’t have an athletic pass will be disciplined. 

Attention seniors:  Orders for your senior group picture are available outside the library or HS office.  You may see the picture in the library window.  All orders are due to Mrs. Bladen on or before Monday, October 31.  

Seniors, the annual costume parade will be Halloween morning during first period. Prizes will be awarded for funniest, cutest, craziest, most original, and best group. All costumes must be school appropriate. We will parade through both the elementary and jr/sr high school, be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

The annual Halloween parade, led by the Bloomfield Marching Cardinals, will be Halloween night at 6:00 p.m. It will begin at the Bloomfield Public Library. Cash prizes for best costumes!

Juniors and Seniors, make sure to check the binder for college visits in the office. Two new visits have been added:  Oakland City University on October 27 at 11:30 a.m. and St. Mary of the Woods on November 8 at 10:04 a.m.

Today you will be receiving bracelets to recognize Red Ribbon Week.  Our theme is “It Is UP to Me” to be Drug Free.  This week we will be focusing on alcohol and other drugs and how they effect us and the ones we care about in order to make knowledgeable and responsible choices.  “It is up to Me”.  We ask that you wear the bracelet for the rest of the week.  Their will be incentives (candy) randomly given throughout the week to individuals wearing their bracelets.  Tonight we will be watching the movie, “UP” starting at 6:00 the high school cafeteria.  Dress up as your favorite “UP” character or bring a balloon for admission.  (hint – there will be balloons for those that may forget).  There will be free popcorn. 

SADD will be selling Marvelous Monster Message suckers for $1 during lunch today.  Order a Marvelous Monster Message for somebody that you think is Marvelous.  Monster suckers will be delivered to the person on Monday, October 31st.

SADD students need to see Mrs. Daniels today to help with sucker sales.

Thursday - Red Ribbon Week Challenge & Bracelet Incentive Day

SADD will be selling Monster Suckers throughout the week to recognize individuals at Bloomfield who are simply Marvelous.  Students and staff can purchase Marvelous Monster Message suckers for $1 for delivery to somebody at the school on Monday, October 31.  Help us celebrate "Marvelous Monday" by buying a sucker for "Zomb-ody" that you think is simply marvelous.

It is now time to apply for the Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program which provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at Crane through the Department of Navy during the summer.  Students need to have completed grade 9, and be 16 years of age in most cases.  You can access information and the application at See Mrs. Crane for details. 

Sign up by Monday for the Cultural Cooking Club’s first meal next Wednesday, October 26, immediately after school.  Sign up in Mrs. Bent’s room if you plan to attend and/or bring food.

Environmental Club dues should be turned in to Miss Bohnert by Thursday.

Juniors, Gray Brothers pies has made a change from Blackberry to Blueberry pies. Make sure to change this on your order form and notify anyone who has ordered a blackberry pie from you. Orders are due Tuesday, October 25.

Silent Library The Revenge will be held Friday, October 28, in the Bloomfield Public Library Community Room. from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Ivy Tech Community College-Wabash Valley will be hosting a Scholarship Essay Workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 1.  They will give prospective college students the opportunity to learn more about how to apply for scholarships and to use an essay more than once.  See Mrs. Crane for details.

DEADLINE to sign up to take the SAT was Friday, October 7. You can still sign up and pay a late fee. Register online at  Test date is November 5 at Bloomfield Jr/Sr High School. Stop by Mrs. Crane’s office with questions and to pick up a practice test.

Seniors are selling DQ Coupon books to offset the senior fee which pays for graduation expenses. If enough are sold it could also reduce the cost of the senior trip! Pick up your supply to sell from Mrs. Riggins in the Library or Mrs. Brown in the office. Parents may sign up to work a booth at the Apple Festival to sell also. See Mrs. Brown for more information!

Juniors and Seniors who take a prearranged absence day to visit a college should return an attendance verification slip so that the absence will be “certified.”

A dodge ball tournament will be held on Thursday, October 27, at 6:00 PM in the Junior High Gym.  This tournament is open to students in grades 3-12.  See Mrs. Schulte if you are interested in putting a team together.
