Welcome to kindergarten, where your child’s educational journey begins. Kindergarten is a time for your child to cultivate his/her love of learning. Mrs. Kristy Burger, Mrs. Amy Gaines, Mrs. Jessica Lauderale, and Mrs. Mandy McIntosh teach full day kindergarten. Each kindergarten classroom at Bloomfield Elementary School is designed to offer your child a smooth transition from preschool into the primary grades. Classrooms are designed for young students’ educational needs so students can grow and learn. The teachers encourage the development of both academic and social skills focusing on individual strengths and learning styles while encouraging each child to develop a strong sense of personal responsibility.
Kindergarten classes participate in the Waterford Early Reading Program in the school’s Literacy Lab. Each day your child will receive 30 minutes of Waterford computerized programming at his/her level and 30 minutes of small group instruction based on academic needs. Lesson plans are posted weekly on-line through the Harmony Program as well as in teacher’s weekly newsletters. The kindergarten teachers always welcome parental involvement and can be reached through email, phone calls, notes or visits.
We look forward to working with each and every child and their family to make this a spectacular learning year.
